SLUSHY // CHICAGO RAD POP MUSIC
Slushy is a rock and roll band from Logan Square, Chicago, Illinois. Two dudes with rad tudes playing tunes. Talking about rock and roll and catchy melodies and having fun.
Chris started Slushy with just him and a drum machine. Brent joined a little later. We’ve played a lot of shows since then and written a lot of tunes.
Slushy writes songs about having fun, eating food, being young, dying young, falling asleep, not having fun, not falling asleep, going to the desert, being lucky, traveling through time, and falling in love with every cool girl we meet. We’ve put a tape out on Manic Static (The Funs, Twin Peaks, etc) and have 7″ out soon on Randy Records (Uh Bones, Dead Ghosts).
We’ve played shows with Jack Oblivian, Ty Segall, Mark Sultan, King Tuff, Crocodiles, ? and the Mysterians, The Gizmos, The Hussy, Bass Drums of Death, Jaill, Burnt Ones, No Joy, Dead Ghosts, White Mystery, Bare Wires, Natural Child, Rayon Beach, Apache Dropout, Colleen Green, Heavy Cream, Happy Thoughts, Hot Machines, The Yolks, Vacation Club, Twin Peaks and plenty of other nice bands.
So far, we’ve played shows in Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Indianapolis, Lafayette, Bloomington and Mishawaka, IN; Austin, TX; Cleveland and Columbus, OH; Detroit, MI; Brooklyn and New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Silver Springs, MD; Raleigh, NC; and Nashville, TN. We’re looking forward to playing more places soon.
And we’re really good at synchronized guitar shredding!!!
